Teaching a class on Mixed Media with focus on Recycling!

I'm going to be teaching a class on mixed media artwork at OB centric art gallery on Monday, November 22nd. 7 PM - 11PM BYOB! It'll cost $10 and you'll leave with the cool stuff you learn how to make!

We will be exploring topics about recycling and reusing items while turning them into artwork. There are many ways to recycle or up-cycle items to give them a new life, and therefore keeping them out of landfills and contributing to pollution. These processes lend themselves to making creative, personalized, thoughtful and inexpensive gifts.

Our focus will be using these materials:
-Magazines
-Wood
-Found and reusable artifacts
-Furniture
-Glue and Paint

Some examples of some recycled/up-cycled items I have made and will be instructing you to make yourself:

-Rolled Magazine Frame

-Mixed Media Wall Hangings/Artwork
-Collaging (Which can be applied to most surfaces, I prefer furniture.
